For a great start to 2018, I went off to Madeira and took some fantastic images whilst I was there.

Our first trip out was up to the top of the mountain, which took not one, but two cable cars to see the panoramic views of the tropical gardens at Funchal. The views down the mountain were gorgeous! If you ever get the chance to go and visit, I highly recommend it.

On our second day we went up the Lavadars onto the Levada do Norte trail which has some of the paths in the Portugese archipelago that follow more than 1,350 miles of mini-canals!

The walk was fantastic but very tiring, by the end of the day we had managed to walk over 10 miles of these wonderous paths.

On the third day I rested up a little by going on a bus tour, which can take you all the way round Maderia. At one stop of our tour, we got to go onto a glass bridge, which I used the opportunity to take a daring picture looking down the mountain, onto the sea below.

Also before we had to return back to not so sunny England, we took a boat ride out and we managed to see the Queen Mary 2 and some whales!

This was a fantastic short break and I will definately be planning another trip for some more wonderful images!
